Mourning Daily Musings

This morning started out to be rather horrid. I woke up about 45 minutes before my alarm clock was supposed to go off. I could not go back to sleep. My head felt like someone hit it with a 2×4. I just wanted to go back to bed and start the day over. Overall, it looked like the day was just going to be a royal pain.

I had too much time on my hands this morning. So, I decided to treat myself to a Chick-Fil-A meal before work. (It beats having a Pop Tart) The drive thru was moving slower than usual. It did not matter…. I had plenty of time. Then I saw the driver in front of me pass a paper to the drive thru window. I thought it was a bit odd.

When I pulled up to pay for my order the guy handed me a paper and my order. He said, “The people in front of you paid for you and you have to read this letter.” I was surprised that someone would pay for me. It felt like I was winning a prize. (A Chicken Biscuit Mini Meal is a great prize!)

The letter from the stranger was really interesting. New Life 91.9 (A Local NC Christian Radio Station) was doing a program called Drive Thru Difference. The goal is to surprise people and make their day brighter. In turn, hopefully that person will do it for someone else.

It worked, it really put a smile on my face. So, in turn I want to give a smile to someone else.
